Who organized?

The Tax Day Teaparty is where we first gathered in protest. At the Capitol in Raleigh, we came together as a community to fight for our freedom. Join us once again so that we can keep the momentum going as we near the 2010 elections.

Make your voice heard, let our government hear from the citizens of our great state. Join your fellow conservatives and we exercise our rights and stand up for our future!

Bring your signs and come stand with other patriots from North Carolina - there will be vendors, speakers and food.

See you there!

At the same time as the Raleigh Tax Day Tea Party, there will also be a Rolling Tea Party (hosted by www.ncteapartyrevolution.com) from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm. This consists of people riding in a set route through town in their vehicles, with signs and car window flags flying. The route encircles the General Assembly, the Governor’s mansion, the Capitol and several other areas downtown. Go to www.RollingTeaParty.com to see the route, or just come to Jones Street and we’ll direct you. This is perfect for people who can’t stand for long periods!

Can't wait to see everyone there!
caroinachrissy-- I'm not sure if you should bring the dog or not...with lots of folks, noise, children who might be skiddish of a strange dog, etc. might not be the best place for him.

BREAKING NEWS (thanks to WTVD11 news email bulletin) - State backs down on flagpole rule at protests.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Hours before a large Tea Party protest at the State Capitol, North Carolina officials suspended a rule that would have kept flagpoles and banner supports to a maximum length of 12 inches.

I have family in town and thought about not going tonight. I went to DC last year on 9/12 and to the office of Brad Miller so I knew it would be a great time, but I still debated.
But I woke up this morning, turned on the news, and changed my mind. 'All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing?
So I will be there with my entire family!

Just talked to my brother in Boston. He went to the Tea Party there today. He said there were definitely infiltraitors there. They pointed them out to police and the police took care of it and made them leave. Hopefully RALEIGH police will do the same thing.

So Gov. Perdue isn't allowing Flags on wood, metal or plastic. They are "potential" weapons! So she is falling for all that media propoganda and leftist bull. I have not seen a "rowdy" tea party yet! As for weapons.....Our being there is the best weapon yet! Wear your Americana t-shirts and/or jackets....and flaunt them! And be proud of them and our Country!

Can't put a backdrop on the stage, it would need "tent" approval. Don't want to go down that road. Good News! Our amendment for the color guard was approved :) We will have our flags on the stage!

Don't let the RSVP's to this event fool you, there will be so many there, the RSVP's are just so we know that members of this group are interested in the event. I expect the Capitol to be full - and then some! :)

Things will only change by getting candidates voted in who understand the details of what's wrong in the Code. Specifically, we need e.g. more CPAs, Engineers and Plumbers elected to Congress and fewer lawyers, so that Congress has a BALANCE OF SKILLS.

Chuck wrote about " ....disrespect for Government..."

Hmm! You mean like all of us here?

I thought what we were going to demonstrate about was that we HATE the direction that successive Governments have taken us in recent decades.

Re: discussions about legal and illegal flagpoles: Please folks - it's not about that! It's about what specifically Government is and has been doing wrong for decades and what should it be doing instead.

Laura is there a way to set up a back drop on the stage? I figure we can hang a flag from it and maybe post a large message to Gov. Perdue and Cheif Hunter asking them when the last person was killed or injured by a flag pole.

Brought my daughter too and she loved it!! Teaching her the 912 ideas in home school. She's not going to be indoctrinated in the public school that's for sure!! Thanks for setting it up!!
    •  Awsome is a better rating but it is not listed above. Thank you Laura and Julie for your hard work. You made the rally a success. The black lady who spoke was inspirational to us all. She was a hard act to follow for all who followed her on the podium. God bless you all. Pete and Lucy Peterson
    •  Good crowd, positive message, non-violent assembly. Maybe a couple of thousand? (Just 20 or 30 anti-tea partiers). I brought my flag on a pole! It's GREAT to live in AMERICA!!
    • Dennis Reilly (+1 guest)
My hope is the politicians who say vote for me and I'll change things had better keep their promise. I'm still waiting for a politician to declare he or she will represent us because they love their country and don't expect any perks. Better yet would be to donate their time. We need someone to actually do some work themselves than just delegating authority. Be hands on politicians and stop lying.
    •  It felt very good speaking to the group of about, one thousand PATRIOT Americans, as the final invited speaker for the day. --- Plus, the organizers were very helpful when setting up my table. This has been the best event during the campaign, which I have attended.
    •  Laura and those who helped her did a great job in organizing this event! Many thanks!
    •  The sound system was really effective. It drowned out the noisy bunch of race-mongers across the street. This Tea Party had candidates making campaign pitches, different from previous rallies. But as we approach important elections, this has to happen and it's a good thing. It helps us make informed choices to elect the real conservatives who will preserve American freedom defined by our constitution.
    • KD Allen (+1 guest)
It was a peaceful gathering of people fed up with big government and looking for conservative candidates to support.
    •  Laura did a great job organizing everything. Great event!
    •  Laura did a great job for us. Thank you, Laura. We are so fortunate to have you on our side. Curt
    •  A great Tea Party gathering. Well organized. Several fine speakers. Attentive audience. The counter protesters out on the street could be heard periodically, but the crowd ignored them except to chant "USA" when they got two loud.
    • carolinachrissy (+3 guests)
What a terrific event. My family and our black Standard Poodle, Zeus had a great time. What a crowd with great signs and a great spirit. I loved that our opponents across the street went from about 20-30 down to 5 toward the end of our Tea Party. I was insulted by a guy with a dog; as we were preparing to cross the street to the State Capital, after his dog charged mine and he said "Yeah, attack those mean, stupid people!" Poor ignorant little man! I hope he and the infiltrators among us really heard our message and that a few were swayed by the truth, dignity and honor that was evident at our Raleigh Tea Party!
    •  It has been one year since I went to my first Tax Day Tea Party, and the first time in my life I had ever made a sign and publically protested anything! A year later I found myself gratified, tremendously encouraged, and proud to be among my fellow patriotic Americans, the individual blades of the Tea Party movement that I believe are the American compass back to the true north of the Founding Fathers and God the Father. It was wonderful to be among you!
    •  Awesome event. Thank you Julie and Laura and others for organizing this event. All I know is don't mess with the " Long " girls ! ! Julie I could not finish singing the National Anthem ...... I was too choked up. WAY to go girls ! ! ! Nothing but Love, Russ Pam & Sir Bubba
    •  It was a great event....good speakers....and I didn't see any infiltrators...just a few young protestors.
    •  Excellent job Laura, Julie nailed the National Anthem.....disappointed in the turn out, by my estimates, there were three to five thousand, I'd hoped for ten....too bad more people don't understand the crossroads our country is at....many may be eager to taste socialism after all...who wouldn't want a system where no one has to work and the government gives you everything you need..??.....several people asked me about bathrooms and I told them I thought there were portable toilets, but never saw them.....
    • Dennis Gaertner (+1 guest)
It was great to meet so many like minded patriots!! The protest group across the street was absolutely pitiful and seem to disburse after Bill Randall's speech. I think his was the best speech of the night! But there were many good candidates there. Making a choice among them in some races is not going to be easy. I just wish I had more time to meet and network with people there. Dennis
    •  I'm glad the conservative candidates were able to be there so we could hear them and put faces to names. It proves that when their country needs them, good people will rise to heed the call. I'm also glad the opposition was small and didn't cause any problems.
    •  my first political demonstration ever and I am 40yo! Well organized and well attended; thanks Laura for all your hard work and all the great speakers.
    • Chuck Stires (+2 guests)
The event was well coordinated and ran smoothly. The Infiltraitors behaved...and there seemed to be some good give and take...especially when we recognized their right to assembly and speech. Is there a Raleigh attendance #? Is there a nationwide attendance #?
    •  Excellent.....speakers were great! Organization was great! Let's keep it going until we win back the conservative voice!
    • Ed
Great group of people! Be sure to support www.lawsonforcongress.com in the 4th district. The candidate that has principles and integrity. Also when Dr. Lawson speaks he has something to say in detail with logic and facts applied - it not not just talking points and rhetoric like his opponent.
    •  Fantastic job by all concerned. Triangle Conservatives Unite should be proud of the representation of candidates and the wonderful venue that was used for this event. Thanks to our Creator for the beautiful weather. Does anyone not think that He has "our Back". Nanette Ryan
    • Denise (+2 guests)
The best TCU event yet! Great great job Laura!
    • Renee Nichols (+1 guest)
Overall ...great! I'm very glad that my older son and I were both able to attend. Fantastic that they backed off on the flagpole ban just before the event! I think some of that conservative talk radio--another freedom to be protected--tipped the scale for us. Amazing how our Gov. Bev," knew nothing about the rule change."
    • T. Medlin (+1 guest)
a beautiful day....couldn't have ordered better weather! Tons of patriots came out, networked with others, joined new groups, got to listen to candidates running for office...flags were flying, and only a handful of protestors, couple from the commie group F.I.S.T, the others were there "demanding" citizenship and free healthcare....pffft Kudos to law enforcement. There were no incidents of violence...just people enjoying and exercising their right to free speech! Good job, and thanks to all who made a special effort to show up!
    •  THE WEATHER WAS GREAT AND THE AMERICAN SPRIT WAS BLOWING HIGH IN THE WIND. WE NEED MORE OF THESE KIND OF MEETINGS TO GET PEOPLE OUT AND BE PROUD TO SPEAK UP AS AMERICANS. THIS WAS AS GREAT TEA PARTY, MORE FOLKS SHOWED UP THAN WE THOUGHT WOULD BE THERE. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
    •  Needed even more people. We really need to focus on 8/28 In DC. 5 million or more. We can do it!
    • Mari Jo Tropcich (+1 guest)
