An understanding of wealth differentials today requires a historical perspective given that wealth usually accumulates over generations. From the mid 1800s to recent years federal laws and practices favored whites, not other groups and hence the focus on whites. I invite you and others to attend the Feb. 1 session and then judge the merits of the historical institutional analysis.

John and other members,
The Alliance is not about white bashing but rather seeks to understand systemic structural factors that have historically advantaged whites and that need to be redone so as to work equally for everyone. The Feb. 1 session will focus on federal laws and practices that have differentially helped whites and how access to housing that appreciates in value is important to most families in the generation-to-generation accumulation of modest wealth.
